My paintings explore the physical practice of martial arts. Therefore I research and develop a visual language that evolves around the coexistence of strength and exhaustion.
The figures frozen in the midst of movement a gesture—bodies that are fighting, but also dreaming represent a state of an almost meditative presence within one’s own body.
They personify fragments of my physical memories; they carry experiences and contradictions between an image of an identity that emerges that is fluid, a form of queer masculinity.
